Shubhomitra Sen was Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Her date of birth or birthday is on 21 September, 1981. Rimi was christened Shubhomitra Sen.

Her school days were spent in Bidya Bharti Girl’s High School. She also trained in Odissi and was part of Aloka Kanungo’s dance group.
